I have loved books for as long as I can remember. Some of my favorite childhood memories are of my parents reading to me. The lessons I learned from books helped to shape my view of the world.
Writing is fun because I get to create my own characters and their backstories. My favorite part of any narrative is getting to know the characters. I quickly become invested in their lives and let their growth and emotions become my own. In some respects, fictitious characters are as real to me as flesh and blood people. After reading a book or watching a movie, I like to think about what would have happened if different choices had been made, and I imagine what will happen next in the characters’ lives.
I have been working with children since I was in high school. To date, I have taught Spanish from the preschool through high school levels and tutored college students. I also taught modeling and acting to elementary-aged students for almost four years and worked as an assistant children’s librarian for just under a year. Currently, I work as an administrative assistant at a local government agency and volunteer at my church’s Sunday school.
I live in Central Pennsylvania. Some of my favorite things to do in my free time are going for walks, reading, playing games, watching movies, and learning foreign languages.
